Naomi Smith, LMHC, completed her masters in Mental Health Counseling through the Warner School at the University of Rochester in 2013. After receiving her degree, she completed her licensing in a clinic setting, serving as both a therapist and in a supervisory role. Naomi had prior experience in the private therapy setting prior to joining Live Well Webster. She has significant experience with a wide range of client demographics, diagnoses, and treatment needs.
Naomi prioritizes using a collaborative approach to therapy where the client experience is able to be explored, reflected, and reformulated to create positive change. She uses her client’s stories and contexts to help build understanding about where the thoughts, behaviors, and feelings clients presently experience may stem from. Naomi is able to draw from multiple treatment approaches to help tailor support to the individual. She is versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She also draws from humanistic theory, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and some art therapy approaches.
Naomi’s primary specialties include trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. She is available to work with individuals aged 18 and over. Naomi is available for telehealth sessions only via our HIPAA compliant video service.
Naomi is currently taking new telehealth clients with a 3-4 week wait list.
